DPD are the UK’s favourite parcel delivery company. With more than 15,000 people and over 10,000 vehicles, DPD deliver over 260 million parcels a year from 84 locations.

DPD has a reputation for innovation, providing customers with advanced technology such as predictive time slots and in-flight delivery options. Their new £100m Superhub is the largest of its kind in Europe.

The Challenge

Many thousands of employees work at DPD sorting facilities every day. At this scale, an efficient and highly reliable time and attendance solution was vital for absence management, pay calculation and access control. The solution would need to calculate pay rates based on complex industry rules, while providing managers with in-depth reports.

Our Solution

Zentive developed a comprehensive time and attendance platform that integrates with biometric and RFID access terminals, as well as a bespoke IVR system for remote employees including haulage and delivery drivers. The result is incorporated into payroll reports that are easily imported into accounting systems.

Results

Most recently the solution has been rolled out to the new DPD Superhub, the largest such sorting hub in Europe. Due to the success of the platform, a cloud migration is now underway.
